Keto Burger King

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for grilling)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 large lettuce leaves (for bun replacement)
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (preferably sugar-free)
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 4-5 dill pickle slices
  • 1/2 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons avocado (optional for extra creaminess)

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Patties: Season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form the meat into 4 equal patties, pressing them slightly in the center to avoid puffing up during cooking.
  2. Cook the Patties: Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Drizzle olive oil and cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Add a slice of cheddar cheese to each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover to melt.
  3. Assemble the Burger: On each plate, place a large lettuce leaf as the “bottom bun.” Spread mayonnaise and mustard on top. Add a slice of tomato, a few pickle slices, and some onion rings. Place the cooked burger patty with melted cheese on top of the veggies.
  4. Top and Serve: Place another lettuce leaf on top to form the “top bun.” Optional: spread avocado on the inside for extra creaminess. Serve immediately with a side of crispy keto-friendly fries or a salad!
