Cheat’s Tuna Melt Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of tuna (drained)
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp mustard (optional, for a tangy kick)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 slices of bread (your choice)
  • 1-2 slices of cheese (cheddar or mozzarella work great)
  • Butter or margarine for toasting

Instructions:

  1. Mix the filling: In a bowl, combine tuna, mayonnaise, mustard (if using), salt, and pepper.
  2. Assemble the sandwich: Spread butter or margarine on one side of each bread slice. Place one slice butter-side down on a skillet or pan. Spread the tuna mixture on top and cover with cheese slices.
  3. Toast it up: Place the second bread slice on top, butter-side up. Cook on medium heat until the bread is golden and crispy, and the cheese is melted.
  4. Serve and enjoy: Slice the sandwich in half and serve hot with a side of salad, pickles, or chips.
