Keto Ground Beef Casserole Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (240ml) tomato sauce (sugar-free)
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese (or any keto-friendly cheese)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 medium zucchini, sliced (optional, for added veggies)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the Ground Beef:
    • In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium heat.
    • Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
    • Stir in diced onions and garlic, cooking until softened.
  3. Add Seasoning and Sauce:
    • Mix in tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
    • Cook for 2-3 minutes until the flavors combine.
  4. Layer the Casserole:
    • In a casserole dish, spread the cooked ground beef mixture evenly.
    • Add a layer of sliced zucchini (optional).
  5. Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
    • In a small bowl, combine heavy cream with 1 cup of shredded cheese. Pour this mixture over the ground beef.
  6. Top with Cheese:
    • Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of shredded cheese over the casserole.
  7. Bake:
    • Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Serve:
    • Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Serve hot and enjoy your keto-friendly meal!
