Air Fryer cheese Scones.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper (optional)
- 1/4 cup (60g) cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup (75g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
- 1 large egg, beaten (for glazing)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add the cold butter cubes and rub them into the flour mixture using your fingertips until it resembles breadcrumbs.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Add the Milk:
- Gradually add the milk to the dry mixture, stirring gently with a fork until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.
- Shape the Scones:
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and gently knead 2-3 times.
- Roll the dough to about 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick and cut out rounds using a 2-inch cutter or shape into triangles.
- Prepare for Air Frying:
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3-5 minutes.
- Place the scones on parchment paper or a lightly greased air fryer tray, leaving space between each.
- Brush and Cook:
- Brush the tops of the scones with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool and Serve:
- Let the scones cool slightly on a wire rack.
- Serve warm with butter, or enjoy them on their own.
