Air Fryer cheese Scones.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 cup (60g) cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup (75g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for glazing)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
    • Add the cold butter cubes and rub them into the flour mixture using your fingertips until it resembles breadcrumbs.
    • Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  2. Add the Milk:
    • Gradually add the milk to the dry mixture, stirring gently with a fork until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.
  3. Shape the Scones:
    • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and gently knead 2-3 times.
    • Roll the dough to about 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick and cut out rounds using a 2-inch cutter or shape into triangles.
  4. Prepare for Air Frying:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3-5 minutes.
    • Place the scones on parchment paper or a lightly greased air fryer tray, leaving space between each.
  5. Brush and Cook:
    • Brush the tops of the scones with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
    • Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Cool and Serve:
    • Let the scones cool slightly on a wire rack.
    • Serve warm with butter, or enjoy them on their own.
