Air Fryer Smashed Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound baby potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary or thyme (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Potatoes:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
    • Boil the baby potatoes in salted water for about 10-12 minutes, or until they are fork-tender. Drain and let them cool slightly.
  2. Prepare for Smashed Style:
    • Place the boiled potatoes on a flat surface, and use the bottom of a glass or a potato masher to gently smash each potato until it flattens but holds together.
  3. Season the Potatoes:
    • In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried rosemary, salt, and pepper. Brush this mixture generously over the smashed potatoes.
  4. Air Fry the Potatoes:
    • Arrange the potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; you may need to cook in batches.
    • Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the edges are golden and crispy.
  5. Optional Toppings:
    • Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese during the last 2 minutes of air frying for a cheesy crust.
    • Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
