Mozzarella cheese slices

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of mozzarella cheese (about 1/4-inch thick)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko works best)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Cooking spray or oil for misting

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Coating Stations:
    • Place flour in one shallow dish.
    • Beat the eggs in another shallow dish.
    • Mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning in a third shallow dish.
  2. Coat the Cheese Slices:
    • Dredge each mozzarella slice in flour, ensuring it’s fully coated.
    • Dip it into the beaten eggs.
    • Coat it with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating for a thicker crust.
  3. Freeze:
    • Place the coated slices on a parchment-lined tray. Freeze for at least 1 hour to prevent melting during air frying.
  4. Preheat Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Air Fry:
    • Arrange the frozen mozzarella slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Lightly spray with cooking oil.
    • Cook for 5-7 minutes or until golden and crispy. Flip halfway through and spray again for even cooking.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve immediately with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
