Mozzarella cheese slices
Ingredients:
- 8 slices of mozzarella cheese (about 1/4-inch thick)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko works best)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Cooking spray or oil for misting
Instructions:
- Prep the Coating Stations:
- Place flour in one shallow dish.
- Beat the eggs in another shallow dish.
- Mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning in a third shallow dish.
- Coat the Cheese Slices:
- Dredge each mozzarella slice in flour, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Dip it into the beaten eggs.
- Coat it with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating for a thicker crust.
- Freeze:
- Place the coated slices on a parchment-lined tray. Freeze for at least 1 hour to prevent melting during air frying.
- Preheat Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.
- Air Fry:
- Arrange the frozen mozzarella slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Lightly spray with cooking oil.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes or until golden and crispy. Flip halfway through and spray again for even cooking.
- Serve:
- Serve immediately with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
