Ingredients:

  • 4 slices of thick bread (brioche or Texas toast works best)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk (or your preferred milk)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp sugar or honey (optional)
  • Butter or nonstick spray (for greasing the air fryer basket)
  • Optional toppings: maple syrup, powdered sugar, fresh fruit, whipped cream

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Custard:
    • In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar (if using) until well combined.
  2. Dip the Bread:
    • Dip each slice of bread into the custard mixture, ensuring both sides are evenly coated. Let the bread soak for about 10 seconds on each side.
  3. Preheat and Grease:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes. Lightly grease the air fryer basket with butter or nonstick spray.
  4. Arrange Bread in Basket:
    • Place the soaked bread slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Ensure they don’t overlap (cook in batches if necessary).
  5. Cook:
    • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through. The French toast should be golden brown and slightly crisp on the edges.
  6. Serve:
    • Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite toppings like maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit.
