Ingredients:
- 4 slices of thick bread (brioche or Texas toast works best)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk (or your preferred milk)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp sugar or honey (optional)
- Butter or nonstick spray (for greasing the air fryer basket)
- Optional toppings: maple syrup, powdered sugar, fresh fruit, whipped cream
Instructions:
- Prepare the Custard:
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar (if using) until well combined.
- Dip the Bread:
- Dip each slice of bread into the custard mixture, ensuring both sides are evenly coated. Let the bread soak for about 10 seconds on each side.
- Preheat and Grease:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes. Lightly grease the air fryer basket with butter or nonstick spray.
- Arrange Bread in Basket:
- Place the soaked bread slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Ensure they don’t overlap (cook in batches if necessary).
- Cook:
- Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through. The French toast should be golden brown and slightly crisp on the edges.
- Serve:
- Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite toppings like maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit.
