Air Fryer Mac and Cheese
Ingredients:
- 2 cups elbow macaroni (cooked al dente and drained)
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup panko breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
- 2 tbsp melted butter (for breadcrumbs)
Instructions:
- Preheat Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix the Cheeses: In a mixing bowl, combine cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together milk, heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Combine Everything: Add the cooked macaroni to the sauce mixture. Stir in most of the cheese (save some for the topping).
- Assemble: Pour the mac and cheese mixture into an air fryer-safe baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
- Optional Topping: Mix panko breadcrumbs with melted butter, then sprinkle over the mac and cheese for a crunchy top layer.
- Air Fry: Place the dish in the air fryer and cook for 15-18 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
- Serve: Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
