Crustless Pizza Bowl
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey (or sausage if you prefer)
- 1 cup marinara sauce (or pizza sauce)
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup pepperoni slices (optional)
- 1 small onion, diced (optional)
- ½ bell pepper, diced (optional)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon dried basil
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions:
- Cook the meat: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add a little olive oil and cook the ground meat until fully browned. Break it up as it cooks. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
- Add veggies (optional): If you’re using onions or bell peppers, add them to the skillet with the meat and sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Season: Add the garlic powder, oregano, and basil to the meat mixture. Stir well.
- Combine with sauce: Pour in the marinara sauce (or pizza sauce) and stir everything together. Let it simmer for 5-10 minutes to combine flavors.
- Assemble the bowls: Spoon the meat and sauce mixture into oven-safe bowls. You can divide it evenly between 2-4 bowls, depending on how large you want them.
- Top with cheese and pepperoni: Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top of each bowl, then add the Parmesan. Add pepperoni slices if desired.
- Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the bowls on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. You can garnish with fresh basil or parsley for extra flavor!
