Homemade Cranberry Sauce
Ingredients:
12 oz fresh or frozen cranberries
2/4 – 1 cup granulated sweetener
1 cup water
1 tsp orange zest (optional)
½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
Directions:
Cook the Cranberries:
In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, sweetener- (do a taste test on sweetness), and water (or orange juice).
Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Simmer:
Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes. The cranberries will burst, creating a thick sauce.
Add Extra Flavor (Optional):
Stir in orange zest and cinnamon for a festive touch.
Cool:
Remove the sauce from heat and let it cool to room temperature. The sauce will thicken as it cools.
Serve:
Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with a sprig of rosemary or fresh cranberries for a decorative touch.
This cranberry sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and tart—delicious with turkey or as a festive side!
