Orange Juice Cake
Ingredients
For the Cake:
- 1 box yellow or orange-flavored cake mix
- 1 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed or store-bought)
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- Zest of 1 orange (optional, for extra flavor)
For the Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons orange juice
- 1 teaspoon orange zest (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Cake Batter
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt or round cake pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, orange juice, oil, eggs, and orange zest.
- Mix with an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes, or until the batter is smooth.
2. Bake the Cake
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
3. Make the Glaze
- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, orange juice, and zest until smooth. Adjust the consistency with more juice or sugar if needed.
4. Glaze the Cake
- Once the cake is completely cool, drizzle the glaze over the top. Let it set for a few minutes before serving.
