Crispy Air Fryer Apple Fries

2 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp) ๐Ÿ

1/2 cup all-purpose flour ๐ŸŒพ

2 large eggs, beaten ๐Ÿฅš

1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs ๐ŸŒŸ

1/2 cup granulated sugar ๐Ÿฌ

1 tsp cinnamon ๐ŸŒฐ

1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional) ๐ŸŒฟ

For Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

1/4 cup granulated sugar ๐Ÿฌ

1 tsp cinnamon ๐ŸŒฐ

For Optional Dip:

1/2 cup caramel sauce ๐Ÿฎ or vanilla yogurt ๐Ÿฅ›

Prep the Apples:

Peel and core the apples, then slice them into thin wedges.

Set Up Breading Stations:

In one bowl, place the flour.

In a second bowl, beat the eggs.

In a third bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Bread the Apple Slices:

Dredge each apple slice in flour, dip into the beaten eggs, then coat in the panko mixture.

Air Fry:

Preheat the air fryer to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Arrange the breaded apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

Cook for 8โ€“10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

While still warm, toss the apple fries in the cinnamon sugar mixture.

Serve:

Enjoy with caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt for dipping.
