Keto Halibut with Lemon Butter Sauce
Ingredients
For the Halibut:
- 4 Halibut fillets (about 6 oz each)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
For the Lemon Butter Sauce:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: 1 tablespoon capers for added flavor
Instructions
- Prepare the Halibut:
- Pat the halibut fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Cook the Halibut:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Once the oil is hot, add the halibut fillets and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, depending on the thickness. The fish should be golden brown and opaque in the center. Remove the fillets from the skillet and set them aside.
- Make the Lemon Butter Sauce:
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter.
- Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and capers (if using). Cook for another 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve:
- Plate the halibut fillets and drizzle the lemon butter sauce over the top.
- Garnish with chopped parsley for a fresh touch.

- Pair this dish with steamed asparagus or a mixed green salad for a complete meal.
- Adjust the amount of lemon juice based on your taste preference.
