Air Fryer Smashed Potatoes
Ingredients:
- 1 pound baby potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary or thyme (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Cook the Potatoes:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Boil the baby potatoes in salted water for about 10-12 minutes, or until they are fork-tender. Drain and let them cool slightly.
- Prepare for Smashed Style:
- Place the boiled potatoes on a flat surface, and use the bottom of a glass or a potato masher to gently smash each potato until it flattens but holds together.
- Season the Potatoes:
- In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried rosemary, salt, and pepper. Brush this mixture generously over the smashed potatoes.
- Air Fry the Potatoes:
- Arrange the potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; you may need to cook in batches.
- Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the edges are golden and crispy.
- Optional Toppings:
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese during the last 2 minutes of air frying for a cheesy crust.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
