Air Fryer Parmesan Crusted Chicken
Ingredients:
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (Panko works well)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional, for extra crispiness)
- Non-stick cooking spray
Instructions:
- Prepare the chicken:
- Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness for even cooking. Pat them dry with paper towels.
- Set up the breading station:
- In a shallow bowl, whisk the egg.
- In another bowl, mix Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Coat the chicken:
- Dip each chicken breast into the egg, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Press the chicken into the Parmesan mixture, coating both sides evenly. Press firmly to help the mixture stick.
- Prepare the air fryer:
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- Spray the basket with non-stick cooking spray.
- Cook the chicken:
- Place the coated chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer (cook in batches if necessary).
- Spray the tops of the chicken lightly with cooking spray or brush with olive oil for crispiness.
- Cook for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and is golden brown.
- Serve:
- Let the chicken rest for 2–3 minutes before serving. Pair it with a fresh salad, roasted vegetables, or your favorite dipping sauce.
