Air Fryer Parmesan Crusted Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (Panko works well)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional, for extra crispiness)
  • Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the chicken:
    • Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness for even cooking. Pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. Set up the breading station:
    • In a shallow bowl, whisk the egg.
    • In another bowl, mix Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Coat the chicken:
    • Dip each chicken breast into the egg, ensuring it’s fully coated.
    • Press the chicken into the Parmesan mixture, coating both sides evenly. Press firmly to help the mixture stick.
  4. Prepare the air fryer:
    • Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
    • Spray the basket with non-stick cooking spray.
  5. Cook the chicken:
    • Place the coated chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer (cook in batches if necessary).
    • Spray the tops of the chicken lightly with cooking spray or brush with olive oil for crispiness.
    • Cook for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and is golden brown.
  6. Serve:
    • Let the chicken rest for 2–3 minutes before serving. Pair it with a fresh salad, roasted vegetables, or your favorite dipping sauce.
