MILK BRIOCHE

Ingredients:

  • 2 ¾ cups (350g) all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • ½ cup (120ml) warm milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Egg wash (1 egg mixed with 1 tablespoon milk)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
    • Add the warm milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until the dough starts to come together.
    • Gradually add the softened butter and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic (about 8-10 minutes by hand or 5 minutes with a stand mixer).
  2. First Rise:
    • Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
  3. Shape the Brioche:
    • Punch down the dough and divide it into 8-10 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and place them in a lightly greased air fryer basket or pan.
  4. Second Rise:
    • Cover the shaped dough and let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes until puffy.
  5. Preheat and Bake:
    • Preheat the air fryer to 320°F (160°C).
    • Brush the brioche with the egg wash for a golden finish.
    • Air fry for 12-15 minutes, checking for even browning. Rotate or rearrange if necessary.
  6. Cool and Serve:
    • Let the brioche cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them plain or with your favorite spreads!
