Widower Is Barred from Boarding a Flight with His Newborn Baby, 82-Year-Old Meredith Helps Him

Bob Hollis, a 40-year-old father, received a call from a Florida hospital informing him he had a newborn daughter. Bob, who had adopted three children and had two grown kids from a previous marriage, had long been committed to helping foster children, inspired by his own upbringing. His second wife, Mary, had tragically passed away during childbirth in Florida, where she had gone on a trip before her due date.

Rushing to the hospital, Bob met Mrs. Sticks, a kind 82-year-old volunteer who supported him through his grief. When airline policies delayed his return home with his newborn, Mrs. Sticks offered him shelter for a week.

Grateful for her generosity, Bob kept in touch with her. Upon her passing, she left him part of her inheritance, which he donated to a charity he co-founded with her children in her honor.
