Air Fryer Chicken on a stick

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning (optional)
  • Wooden skewers (soaked in water for 30 minutes)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    • Cut the chicken into bite-sized strips or cubes (about 1-inch pieces).
  2. Marinate the Chicken:
    • In a bowl, mix olive oil, soy sauce, honey, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, salt, and oregano (if using).
    • Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and toss until coated. Let it marinate for 15–30 minutes for extra flavor.
  3. Assemble the Skewers:
    • Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the soaked skewers, leaving a little space between each piece for even cooking.
  4. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  5. Cook the Chicken:
    • Place the skewers in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd.
    • Air fry for 10–12 minutes, turning the skewers halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred on the edges. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
  6. Serve:
    • Remove the skewers and let them rest for 2 minutes before serving.
    • Serve with your favorite dipping sauces or sides like rice, salad, or roasted vegetables.
