Easy Garlic Bread Pizza

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of whole wheat bread (or your preferred bread choice)
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce (low-calorie, if desired)
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or a low-fat version)
  • Optional toppings: sliced vegetables (mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, etc.), lean turkey pepperoni, or grilled chicken

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Garlic Bread: Brush each slice of bread with olive oil on both sides. Sprinkle the minced garlic, oregano, and basil evenly over the bread.
  3. Toast the Bread: Place the bread on a baking sheet and toast it in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  4. Add Pizza Sauce and Toppings: Once the bread is toasted, spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over each slice. Top with mozzarella cheese and your choice of additional toppings.
  5. Bake Again: Return the slices to the oven and bake for another 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Serve: Remove from the oven, slice, and enjoy your delicious, guilt-free garlic bread pizza!
