Ham and Cheese Breakfast Croissant
INGREDIENTS
For Each Sandwich:
1 large buttery croissant (sliced in half)
2 slices of deli ham
1 slice Swiss cheese (or your favorite cheese)
1 fried egg (sunny-side up or over easy)
1 tablespoon butter (for frying)
Optional: Sliced green onions or fresh herbs for garnish
DIRECTIONS
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the sliced croissants on a baking sheet, cut side up, and warm for 3–5 minutes while preparing the filling.
Step 2: In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the slices of ham and lightly sear them for 1–2 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Step 3: In the same skillet, fry an egg to your preferred doneness. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Step 4: Assemble the croissant by layering the ham, cheese, and fried egg on the bottom half. Place the croissant back in the oven for 2–3 minutes until the cheese is melty and the croissant is warmed through.
Step 5: Top with sliced green onions or fresh herbs for an extra burst of flavor. Cover with the top half of the croissant and serve immediately.
