Air Fryer Lasagna
Ingredients:
- For the meat sauce:
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- For the cheese mixture:
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
- 1 tsp parsley (optional)
- For layering:
- 6 lasagna sheets (no-boil, trimmed to fit the baking dish)
- Additional 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella (for topping)
Instructions:
- Prepare the meat sauce:
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef or sausage over medium heat until browned. Add the diced onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
- Stir in the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes, then set aside.
- Prepare the cheese mixture:
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, and 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella. Add parsley if desired.
- Assemble the lasagna:
- Use a small baking dish (that fits into your air fryer basket) and lightly grease it.
- Start with a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom. Add a layer of lasagna sheets, followed by a layer of the cheese mixture, and then meat sauce. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with meat sauce on top.
- Sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella on top.
- Cook in the air fryer:
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil (to prevent the top from browning too quickly) and cook for 20 minutes.
- Remove the foil and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve:
- Let the lasagna rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
