Air Fryer Mac and Cheese

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni (cooked al dente and drained)
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (for breadcrumbs)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the Cheeses: In a mixing bowl, combine cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses.
  3. Prepare the Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together milk, heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Combine Everything: Add the cooked macaroni to the sauce mixture. Stir in most of the cheese (save some for the topping).
  5. Assemble: Pour the mac and cheese mixture into an air fryer-safe baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  6. Optional Topping: Mix panko breadcrumbs with melted butter, then sprinkle over the mac and cheese for a crunchy top layer.
  7. Air Fry: Place the dish in the air fryer and cook for 15-18 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
  8. Serve: Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
