Crock Pot Chicken Drumsticks
Ingredients:
3 lbs chicken drumsticks
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon chili powder (optional for heat)
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 cup barbecue sauce (or your favorite sauce)
¼ cup honey (optional, for sweetness)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Drumsticks:
Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels.
In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over the chicken drumsticks.
2. Mix the Sauce:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, honey, and soy sauce.
3. Assemble in the Crock Pot:
Place the seasoned drumsticks in the crock pot.
Pour the barbecue sauce mixture over the chicken, ensuring each piece is coated.
4. Cook:
Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/74°C).
5. Optional Step for Crispy Skin:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Transfer the cooked drumsticks to a foil-lined baking sheet.
Brush them with additional barbecue sauce and broil for 3–5 minutes, until the skin is slightly crispy and caramelized.
6. Serve:
Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions if desired.
Serve hot with mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or roasted vegetables
