Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast:
    • In a small bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Make the Dough:
    • In a large bowl, mix the yeast mixture, melted butter, egg, flour, and salt.
    • Knead the dough for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic (you can use a stand mixer with a dough hook).
  3. First Rise:
    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Shape the Rolls:
    • Punch down the dough and divide it into 10–12 equal pieces.
    • Shape each piece into a smooth ball.
  5. Second Rise:
    • Place the rolls in a greased air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
    • Cover lightly and let rise for another 20–30 minutes.
  6. Air Fry:
    • Preheat the air fryer to 320°F (160°C).
    • Brush the rolls with melted butter and air fry for 8–10 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Finish & Serve:
    • Brush with more melted butter while warm.
    • Serve and enjoy!
